Happy New Year!

We're so thankful for the wonderful year we just had filming weddings for our couples, and are really looking forward to the weddings to come in 2025. And each year about this time, we're curious to see what's in store for us in wedding themes, décor and fashion. The first trend to point out, ironically, is that following wedding trends is no longer a trend! But even so, we know there still will be wedding decorations, clothing, ideas and themes that everyone wants for their weddings this year.

In addition to the fantastic 2025 wedding trends we highlighted recently, such as long tables for reception dining, drop-waistlines (especially the Basque waistline) and thigh-high slit wedding gowns, we scoured the web for a few more upcoming trends that received the most collective buzz by everyone from luxury gown designers to wedding photographers. And we're excited to see a lot of our favorites returning for the new year! Here's just a few things wedding professionals believe we'll see at wedding events all throughout 2025.

Big and Bold Florals

Lovely, large floral bouquets, centerpieces and swags will provide a huge pop of color and interest to 2025 weddings. The bigger and brighter, the better!

And not a flower, of course, but fruits & vegetables can certainly be bold and bright and will also be used more in wedding décor this year. Lemons, oranges and limes in particular make wonderful additions to a summer tablescape, and apples, decorative gourds or pumpkins are perfect for fall.

Large, Traditional Wedding Cakes

Traditional, multi-tiered wedding cakes have never gone away, but unique dessert items, such as doughnut walls and cupcake towers, have been taking over wedding receptions recently. In 2025, experts predict most weddings will include a classic, three, four or five-tiered wedding cake. Most of these beautiful and tasty cakes will be embellished with flowers, either real, frosting or painted, and frosted with traditional white buttercream or fondant.

Wedding Weekends

More couples are extending their wedding celebrations to include the entire weekend! Besides having just the wedding party and immediate family at the rehearsal dinner, all guests are invited to enjoy the dinner before the wedding as well. Then after the wedding event, everyone is requested again at a brunch the following morning.

Wedding weekends are practically a must for couples hosting destination weddings, often with even more places to be and things to do scheduled for guests. And of course, three-day wedding events also work best for weddings with a slightly smaller guest list. Our fantastic couple, Lauren and Hunter, did just that for their wedding at the Union League and we were so happy to capture the events on all three fabulous days for them!

The Color Peach

Pantone's Color of the Year for 2024 was Peach Fuzz, so you know couples planning their weddings for this year were looking at everything peach! The color peach can be either soft and romantic or bright and exciting, or used in a combination of both tones. And it's absolutely perfect when paired with blush and accented with neutral creams and tans and olive or moss green.

Leah and Noble's gorgeous Westhampton wedding was simply dripping in warm peach! From the groom's and groomsmen's neckties to the accents in the floral bouquets to the huge table centerpieces and the eye-catching hanging installations, paired with bright coral and burgundy, that apricot-peach was popping!

1920's Inspired Weddings

1920's inspired wedding themes will be roaring their way into many 2025 wedding events. Couples will be incorporating a few jazz era elements, like adding black, silver and gold and glitter, feathers or fringe, or going full Great Gatsby and theming their whole event to this decadent decade. Amanda and Jeff chose the '20's theme for their glamorous, art deco Hotel Du Pont wedding event and boy, was it ever the cat's pajamas!

And in 2025 Wedding Gown Trends...

Once again, Florals will be very popular in wedding dress designs. Brides-to-be will find an abundance of gowns in which to choose from that feature lovely 3D floral appliques, floral embroidery or even hand-painted flowers.

Wedding gowns with subtle Corsets will also be in style this year. These are dresses, usually strapless designs, with bodices that contain that tell-tale boning, sweetheart neckline and lace-up back. Corsets are terrific because their flattering structure works so well with every body shape and they always add to the romance of the day.

And Dramatic Ball Gowns will continue to reign like the royalty they are for brides in 2025! We completely love that, because ball gowns silhouettes are always stunning and allow brides to truly feel like a princess on one of the most special days of their lives.
