Lindsay and Bill met by chance in a bar in Boston while Lindsay was up from New Jersey visiting a friend, and their meeting definitely was meant to be. The first time they got together after that first encounter, they spent two full days with each other and Lindsay describes it as feeling so natural, so normal! That’s exactly how she knew this was more than just a fling. When you know you’ve found ‘the one’, you just know. The two have been together ever since their very first date!
One wonderful Friday evening, Lindsay arrived home to her apartment and was completely taken by surprise. Her hallway was lined with candles and rose petals! Bill, dressed in a suit, was waiting for her on bended knee in the living room. He asked her to marry him and she said “yes!” Then, they went back to the restaurant where they had their first date, a romantic, full circle moment in their relationship. The celebrations weren’t over though, because Lindsay and Bill drove down to New Jersey to see Lindsay’s parents the following day, and her family had a surprise engagement party for them!
On their wedding morning, Bill and his groomsmen got ready at the Molly Pitcher Inn in Red Bank, New Jersey. They dressed into classic black tuxedos with crisp, white pocket squares and they all looked so sharp!
Meanwhile, Lindsay prepared for her wedding day nearby at her parents’ home, the same house that she grew up in. After her professional hair and makeup was complete, she dressed into her beautiful beaded lace covered, long sleeved Calla Blanche gown with a classic scalloped bateau neckline and an amazing open back design. She wore her hair in a relaxed, wavy updo fastened with a long veil for the ceremony and carried a lovely ivory flower bouquet with blush accents from Craig Kiely Designs. And her beautiful bridesmaids wore dark, navy blue gowns with mismatched necklines and carried delightful, lush bouquets with ivory and burgundy blooms. When everyone was dressed and ready, we headed straight to the church for the marriage ceremony!
Lindsay and Bill didn’t want to see each other before their ceremony, so Bill saw his bride for the first time on their wedding day as she walked down the aisle on the arm of her father. Their traditional Catholic ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Chapel where Father Jeffrey Kegley led them in reciting their vows and exchanging their rings. Soon, he was telling Bill he could kiss his bride!
The newlyweds’ photo sessions took place following the ceremony at their reception venue. We loved seeing Lindsay and Bill kiss and hold each other under the large shade trees outside. And the team at Susan Elizabeth Photography was wonderful to work with as they took candid and formal photos of the couple and their bridal party throughout the day.
The reception then began in the Riverhouse at Rumson Country Club! Decorated in navy, blush and ivory for this event, the venue definitely had a nautical boathouse, rustic chic vibe with its natural cedar shingles, white board and batten wainscoting and wood slat ceiling. It was gorgeous. And look at that delicious semi-naked cake from MKreations!
Lindsay and Bill were announced as the newest ‘Mrs. and Mrs.’, then danced their first, beautiful slow dance on the ballroom floor. Before guests sat for dinner, Lindsay also shared a sweet, joyful dance with her father and Bill danced a heartfelt dance with his lovely mother. Lindsay’s father gave a wonderful welcome speech to their guests. Then, we heard such amazing toasts from Bill’s brother and best man and from Lindsay’s sister, her maid of honor. Lindsay’s sister’s speech was so touching and Bill’s brother had us cracking up with laughter!
The Billy Stone Band from Hank Lane Music totally rocked the house that evening and everyone had such a blast dancing all night long! And when we say everyone, we mean everyone!
We loved every minute that we spent with Lindsay and Bill! They’re such a kindhearted couple, so sweet, and truly are perfect for each other. Congratulations and best wishes to the newlyweds!
