Annie and Steve met each other at a coffee shop in the city of Philadelphia. They each knew they had met 'their one and only' and Steve proposed in a very special location, Rome, Italy! In a beautiful and romantic garden called the Orange Garden, Steve asked Annie to be his forever. And amongst the historic buildings and orange trees, Annie said, "yes!"
Morning preparations took place at the Courtyard Newark-University of Delaware, not far from the day's ceremony and reception venues. After hair and makeup, Annie's bridal party dressed into their long mismatched gowns and all looked so beautiful in their soft sage green.
Steve wore a very dapper double-breasted suit with a gold neck tie, standing apart from his best man and groomsmen in their single-breasted suits and dark ties. Steve's suit choice was so unique and looked absolutely awesome! We hope more grooms we film choose a double-breasted jacket style for their weddings!
With help from her mother and sister, Annie dressed into her beautiful off-the-shoulder Essense of Australia wedding gown with its lovely ruffles all throughout the skirt and on her delicate sleeves. She wore her hair up in a loose updo, and in it fastened an exquisite white brooch. And Annie carried a gorgeous floral bouquet all in white blooms from Sweet Peas of Jennersville. She was such a stunning and romantic bride!
Annie and Steve had a traditional Catholic marriage ceremony at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Roman Catholic Church in Wilmington, Delaware. Steve had his first emotional sight of the beautiful bride as she was escorted down the aisle by her father. We loved how the the lyrics to the couple's wedding song, Can't Take My Eyes Off You, were incorporated wonderfully into the homily. The two recited traditional vows, exchanged rings and became 'husband and wife' there before their friends and family.
Annie and Steve's formal and candid photo shoots took place after their ceremony at the gorgeously manicured grounds of the nearby Nemours Estate. We loved filming as Laura Briggs Photography took photos of the newlyweds strolling hand in hand in the gardens on this beautiful afternoon.
Then it was time for the reception to begin! Annie and Steve entered the ballroom of Deerfield Golf Club to the cheers of their guests, and danced their first dance together. It was so romantic!
Annie's father gave a wonderful welcome speech and toast to the couple, followed by heartfelt toasts filled with funny stories, too, from Steve's best man and best friend (with perfect Taylor Swift era references) and from Annie's maid of honor, her older sister. After the first course, all eyes were glued to the dance floor again as Annie danced with her father, then Steve with his sister.
After dinner, Annie and Steve cut and sampled their fabulous four-tiered white wedding cake from Desserts by Dana. Then the dance floor opened to everyone! DJ Mitch from CTO Artists knew how to keep the party going and everyone out there on the floor all night!
What a beautiful wedding event, from the moving ceremony to the start of their fantastic party to the very end the evening. Congratulations and best wishes from all of us to Annie and Steve!
