Jackie and Erik met in high school and became good friends. Erik later went off to the military and was eventually deployed to Afghanistan. A few months after his return, Jackie and Erik got together to catch up. He drove 6 hours just to meet with her and the two saw each other in a new light after that reunion. Jackie was in college at the time and they spent her entire college winter break together. They realized shortly afterwards on a trip to visit his alma mater, West Point, that they were in love.
We love Erik’s simple proposal! After trying to propose three times a bit too subtly one evening, he gave up trying when Jackie just wouldn’t notice the ring! The next morning, he slipped the ring onto Jackie’s finger while she slept. She was in such shock that she forgot to say yes!
Jackie and Erik’s wedding was such a wonderful event, filled with pomp and circumstance! We love military weddings and all the traditions associated with them. Erik wore his military uniform of course, but he and his groomsmen added “stars and stripes” socks for an element of fun!
Jackie was such a gorgeous bride! Wearing an off-the-shoulder long sleeved dress, she was so unbelievably stunning! The bodice of her gown was overflowing with lace and sparkle and her A-line ruched skirt was so elegant. She looked like a graceful princess.
Jackie’s bridesmaids wore white dresses as a nod to the age-old tradition: bridesmaids all wore white because ancient Roman society believed there were evil spirits wishing harm to the bride. Every bridesmaid wore white to confuse these evil spirits and protect the identity of the bride.
And that’s not the only tradition kept at this wedding! We always love to witness the Arch of Sabers performed by the military as the bride and groom exit from the ceremony. It’s so austere, yet with that fun conclusion, the swatting of the bride! Welcome to the Army, Jackie!
After Jackie and Erik’s beautiful ceremony at Sacred Heart Chapel, their reception commenced at Rivercrest Golf Club and Preserve in Phoenixville, PA. Mike Landis captured the day in photos for the happy couple at this event. Wishes Entertaining and Event Design did a splendid job with the gorgeous flowers and décor. Check out those towering centerpieces overflowing with ivory flowers and Jackie’s sophisticated ivory bouquet.
EBE Events and Entertainment offered their show-stopping band, Paris, for Jackie and Erik’s wedding. Paris never disappoints! Their high-energy, versatile style guaranteed that every guest was having a ball this evening!
We were so honored to be invited to film this special day for such a wonderful couple. We wish them all the best as they begin an exciting new life together! Congratulations to Jackie and Erik!
