Even though the forecast had called for rain, the weather cooperated nicely and kept us warm and dry as the sun smiled down on Kim and Matt’s fabulous wedding day at Brittland Estates!
Kim and Matt shared with us how they met and fell in love. They first knew each other while they were in high school, both playing lacrosse and sharing the same social circles. However, continual mixed signals kept them from pursuing each other. Later, when they were in college and home on break, the two crossed paths again, but miscommunication once again got in the way. Then finally one day, Kim and Matt were spending time out with mutual friends when they finally got the chance to have a deeper conversation with each other. It was then that they realized they had the same level of interest in each other and should have been together all this time! It didn’t take very long after that for them to see that they had found their perfect match and the one with which they would be spending the rest of their lives.
And their married life together would begin on this joyful day in June! Kim got ready for the day in a room inside the grand mansion, Brittland Manor, with her sister (her maid of honor) and her bridesmaids nearby. They all wore lovely floral robes as they had their hair and makeup done by Vintage Veils, then celebrated with champagne.
Matt prepared in the River Lodge, a separate waterfront cabin onsite at Brittland Estates. He and his groomsmen dressed into classic black tuxedos with coordinating bow ties… and their beloved dog, Walter also got in on the action, sporting a bow tie for the occasion.
With his black and white coloring, he looked like he was in a full tux! Walter was a very lucky dog, as he was able to be a part of and share in the entire wedding day with his family!
Kim and Matt shared such beautiful love notes to each other during those final moments before heading outside to get their first look at each other on this special day. Then, Kim was helped by her sister into her wedding dress. She wore a breathtaking Hayley Paige gown with ivory lace throughout the scalloped v-neck bodice, a full tulle skirt and a gorgeous open back with an amazing cross strap detail. She was such a stunning bride!
Then, we traveled outside to catch the couple’s reactions at their first sight of their love. You couldn’t help but feel just as excited as they were to see each other! We enjoyed their photo sessions with their bridal party and family next, with Mike Busada from Mike B Photography and his assistant.
Throughout the wedding event, there were so many loving touches to include the memory of Kim’s mother on this significant day. The wedding itself was taking place not only only Father’s Day weekend in recognition of the couple’s fathers, but also on Kim’s mother’s birthday. Her mother’s favorite flower, the star gazer lily, was prominently placed in bouquets on the corners of the chairs along the aisle at the ceremony. Kim also attached a beautiful photo of her mother on her own wedding day onto her bridal bouquet. It was wonderful to see the many thoughtful ways of honoring her and having her presence felt throughout the day.
It was now time to begin their outdoor ceremony on the picturesque grounds beside the Brittland Manor on Brittland Estates. Kim was escorted up the aisle by her father to meet Matt, waiting in anticipation. Their officiant, Reverend Lee Farrell, presented a beautiful and personal message to the couple, then Kim and Matt recited their vows. The new Mr. and Mrs. were announced to the delight of their friends and family!
Kim and Matt’s reception was held under a grand white tent there on the grounds of Brittland Estates. Fleurs did a beautiful job decorating the reception tables with gorgeous floral arrangements in shades of pink and ivory, not to mention the heavenly bouquets carried by Kim and her bridal party. The scrumptious wedding cake came courtesy of Matt’s sister Lauren, of Sweetheart Bakery. And the whole affair was planned and pulled together perfectly with the help and expertise of Caitlin Krebs!
Kim and Matt were introduced, then danced a romantic first dance together, one that even included spins and a dip! Afterwards, Kim’s father, sister and Matt’s groomsmen were all truly naturals as they gave their beautiful toasts, such sweet words to honor and show their love for Kim and Matt. And later, Prime Time from Washington Talent Agency certainly kept the guests on the dance floor all evening for this fantastic celebration!
Thank you, Kim and Matt, for allowing us to share in this special day with you and your family. Congratulations!
