Nancy and Matt met over eight years ago through mutual friends, but sadly someone or something was always keeping the two from getting together. Finally, six years after meeting for the first time, each was single and ready to give their relationship a chance. And everyone is so glad they did! Nancy and Matt are simply perfect together!
Almost exactly a year ago today, the two went on a weekend getaway to New Hampshire and Vermont. They rented a tree house and spent the day just winging it with fun activities… they went for a hike, saw a waterfall, had lunch and drinks at a brewery (one of their favorite pastimes) and toured a cute New England town.
After they returned to the tree house, they lit a nice fire in the wood burning stove and relaxed. Matt already knew Nancy was the one for him and had a ring packed and ready just in case the perfect moment arrived. And this was it! While they were talking about life and their future plans, Matt popped the question! Nancy said ‘yes’ of course, which brings us to this beautiful winter wedding day!
Everything was still beautifully decorated for the holidays as Nancy and Matt said their ‘I do’s’! But first, we started that morning with filming their bridal and groom preparations at their family homes as each got ready for their big day. As he helped Matt with fastening his cufflinks and straightening his collar, it was so fantastic to see Matt’s father in the role of best man on this special day.
We also loved the fact that Nancy and Matt took a few minutes alone during the hustle and bustle of preparations to read those beautiful love notes. It never fails to be such an overwhelmingly emotional moment for both the bride and groom, as they’re reminded of the whole reason for this important day.
Nancy finished getting ready and dressed into her wedding gown, a beautiful A-line silhouetted dress with an illusion bodice featuring lace appliqués and gorgeous beadwork. She was such a stunning bride! Her bridesmaids all wore elegant matching burgundy gowns that coordinated perfectly with Matt and his groomsmen's ties. And Nancy and her bridal party’s eye-catching bouquets in white, deep red and violet were amazing!
Nancy and Matt shared a touching first look outside in their reception venue’s garden before they headed to the church to make it official. We were so thrilled to be there to capture every moment in photos as well, as Violet with our sister company, Love Frame Photography photographed their day! After Nancy and Matt’s first look, it was such a pleasure to continue to photograph and film moments with them and their bridal party there and again for more formal photos at the church.
The wedding ceremony was held at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Clifton, NJ, where the church was aglow with lighted Christmas trees and bright red poinsettias. Their wedding Mass was so beautiful and so personalized just for the couple. They spoke their traditional vows, exchanged their rings and Nancy and Matt became ‘Mr. and Mrs.’! They shared that sweet kiss at the altar and again before exiting through the church doors!
Then, it was on to their wonderful reception at Nanina’s in the Park. Outside, beautiful white lights outlined the stately venue and inside, more winter-themed décor such as lanterns with red ribbons and mini evergreens decked the halls! Their delectable semi-naked wedding cake from Palermo’s Bakery was embellished with a waterfall of blooms in the same colors as the bouquets.
Nancy and Matt were introduced and entered the room while an exciting Arabic band played for the celebration! Then, they danced their first dream-like dance together on a cloud in the center of the dance floor!
We were treated to wonderful toasts by Matt’s father & best man and by Nancy’s maids of honor, her sister Helen and friend Victoria, as they stood behind Nancy and Matt’s sweetheart table and offered both beautiful messages of love and funny sentiments written especially for the couple. Then, the band kicked off the party and opened the dance floor with more exciting, traditional music! It was so fun to watch Nancy and Matt hoisted on the shoulders of friends to celebrate and dance with the crowd! Jam Music kept the party going and everyone on that dance floor all night!
Nancy and Matt’s wedding was perfect, just like the name of the song they chose for their magical first dance. We want to thank Nancy and Matt for allowing us to capture their wedding day, a day filled with love and laughter. Congratulations and all our best wishes to the sweet couple!
